Fruits Basket

I've just started watching Fruits Basket though I know the whole storyline and everything and I just wanted to know everybody's basic opinion of the show.

I really like the anime and manga. I'm pretty far along in the manga. I forgot which book though. My favorite characters in there are Hatori, Hana and Kyo. Mostly Hana because of the way she messe with other people. For some reason my friends compare me to her.

I adore Fruits Basket I know the whole plot though I've only seen the Anime. I love Hatori especially in combination with Ayame that's a hilarious combo. My favourite character is defintely Kyo, and I love Hana, my favourite scene with her was when Shigure wanted to go to the bathroom and she was cleaning it and she went on so much he shut the door in her face. I can see why you chose darkmoon as a username if you're anything like Hana. I like a lot of the characters.

I was sad to find out that Akito remained a man in the anime, but I heard the creator we'ren't expecting the managaka to go down that road with akito, and that's also why the Fruits Basket anime ended where it did.

Yes I also found out that Shigure is apparantly much darker in the book. But moving along, I have no idea what character I'm most like. I'm probably a combination of Kyo and Ritsu strangely enough, maybe a few others around as well.

Akito is defintely one of the cruelest characters I've seen in anime, I've always wondered what would happen if she were to meet Muraki. Though I suppose it's possible to offer her sympathy as she's been through a bit herself.

Another thing about Fruits Baskets is how fooled I was by the look, I thought it would be a light hearted anime to enjoy but all the jokes and cute looks are really just a ploy, it can be DEPRESSING. I rarely see anime that really hits home with me the way it those, I can have my emotins manipulated and be disturbed to the core but Furuuba really got me on a personal DEPRESSING level that was new. But I do really love it. And some of the character themes too-cos they rule.

I adored the climax of the anime though, woh! And I like the fact that Kyo and Tohru end up having feelings for one another.

Okay my overall fav character list: Kyo, Haru, Ritsu, Hana.

Oh yes just adding at the end, if anyone could recommend some good yaoi fanfiction for this series it would be much appreciated, I'm not too particular but I'm defintely interested in KyoxYuki work.

I collect the manga of Fruits Basket, but I'm only up to number 14. Do tohru and Kyo really get to that point? WOW Shocked

I never expected that! I alway thought it would be Yuki. Why did you call Akito 'she'? Is there something I don't know? AG. I want to know, but I don't want to know, you know? Arg. I'll leave it up to you to tell me (or not).
*sits in a quiet place with Fruits basket books and leafs through them for clues about what coco and darkmoon are talking about--for three hours*

What do people here think of Akito, my opiuon went through 2 stages.

Akito is actually my favorite character, next to Saki Hanajima. =D

I'm still hung over the fact that Akito's mom is insane, abuses her constantly, and is the main source where she learns all of her rude abusiveness.

It's such a cute anime, but the manga is so much more deeper, but the themes of teenage love and 'finding yourself' are still there. Pretty cliche in terms of manga, but it's drawn and created so exquisitely that I can't help but get addicted to it.

And Yuki kicks Kyo's ass in the daytime, Kyo has sex with Yuki at night. End.
