Hisoka, I have to say, is my all time favorite character. He's such a fascinating character that drew me in the first moment I saw him pointing a gun at Tsuzuki. He can be such a brat one moment, but then in the next, he would the most caring person in the world. Hisoka really is a bundle of contridications. I remember the first time I saw the scenes where Gushoshin told Tsuzuki how Hisoka's parents locked him up and Hisoka confessing he had empathy just tore at my heart. It's really strange how I felt so connected to this character.

Hisoka's tempestuous, but he can be rather reserved as well. He cares but I think that sometimes he's too embarrassed to say so. He's stronger than he gives himself credit for. With all the problems he's faced I'm surpised that he hasn't had a mental breakdown. But, Hisoka does have to face the fact that in order to get close to people he has to let people in. He's started to do it, but I think he has a long way to go. I don't think Hisoka has ever attempted to come to terms with being raped like he has with being murdered. Granted, he wants revenge, but we still see him talking about it and even confessed this to Tsubaki. I think the rape is the biggest obstacle that prevents him from truly getting close to people. He is becoming closer to Tsuzuki, but I think the rape will help maintain some sort of barrier until he can get past it.

"Tempestuous"... very good word for him. ((for some reason, the first time I looked, I read it as Temptatious ^^; )) I like Hisoka a lot and were it not for Hijiri, he'd most certainly be my favorite character. I can say that he's in a veeery close second though.

Hisoka reminds me of myself when I was younger. I would avoid everyone and not try to create relationships with them because I was convinsed that all they wanted was a fair weather friend who they could ditch whenever they wanted. Though, with Hisoka, it seems more like he just doesn't know how and/or won't. Like he's afraid that he'll lose them after he's finally found someone to care for.

There was something else I was going to say but I can't remember what it was TT-TT aaarg... sorry TT0TT

Yeah, tempestuous does fit Hisoka. For some reason I really like that word. I'm a little tempestuous myself and of course it's not always a good thing.

Jani_chan, I agree with you that Hisoka acts cold because he fears of losing people if he cares for them.

If you remember what you wanted to say be sure to post it!

still can't remember what I was going to say, but I came up with a question.

Why does Hisoka look so girly? His mother, Rui, was attractive, but he didn't seem to get many traits from her. And his father was a masculin and a half) STUD! WTF happened? Alla sudden Hisoka's practically a girl XD;

Hisoka's feminine features are simply to show how young he is and if he was able to grow up he might have developed a more masculine body. His looks come from his father so maybe his father looked pretty feminine too as a child.

Also, because he was pretty much "ill" the last 3 years of his life, he wouldn't have been able to build any muscle.

Part of his girly look is the fact that he's so thin.

And yeah, when his father was younger, he probably looked much the same way.

Also, look at what Muraki looked like when he was Hisoka's age. The only reason Hisoka still looks like a girl is because he was still young and didn't have any chance to build muscle.

Yeah, it's true that Hisoka's illness probably had some bearing on his physical being. Maybe Hisoka would always have a delicate figure even if he grew up. He did say that he didn't build muscle very well and might have been true even before the illness.

I think that Hisoka himself is such a weirdo, yeah. His family is messed up as it is, he's got empathy, and he's what? You don't say- I don't think he looks like a girl at all, nope.

XDDD

His daddy looks certainly handsome, I thought. Until he got all.. well. Yeah. :x

Might get his girliness there? He's got a good mix of genes, kinda. Just.. not so much on temper. XDD

It's true Hisoka doesn't look like a girl (thank god for that) but he does have some feminine features. I also agree that his father is pretty hot, although he is a bastard.

And boy, you're right about Hisoka's temper. He has quite a bad one!
