I'm just full of different thoughts today and I like to share them with you all. The third volume of YnM has to be my absolute favorite arc. I love the scenes Hisoka and Tsuzuki have with one another and its in this arc I think when you really get to see how they feel about one another. Also Muraki's back in this one and I loved seeing the dark connection that he and Hisoka share. Now, by no means do I ship this pairing or believe that there is any romantic interest between these two (thought Muraki certainly saw the rape as a romantic interlude) but they are connected to one another and I find it absolutely fascinating.

For some reason, today I was beginning to wonder if Hisoka ever slept with Tsubaki. I think its safe to say no in the anime but what about in the manga. I started to think about this today as I listened to my YnM soundtrack and I thought of the scene where Muraki tells Tsuzuki that he should keep an eye on his "precious boy" because Tsubaki was known to sleep around. I don't think its true but at the same time I have to wonder if he did.

Anyway, I like to hear everyone's view on this.

It's one of my favorites, too, because of that lovely little scene near the end. Very Happy Right when Hisoka sees Tsuzuki in the chopper (Which Tatsumi is navigating!! >D) and the dialouge that followed. I am also a perv and love the Tsu and Muraki moments, even though I don't care for the two in that way. XD

Ah, and I love how the FFVII gang is in the manga!!! :333

~tired... can't think... saving brain power for RP....~

I know it's soooo funny. There was Cloud, Tifa, Red, I THINK Caitsith and Vincent, I think but I can't remember.

I love the anime version as it will always have an advantage because of the wonderful music that played throughout it and action and such.

Anyway if we're talking about favourites the manga version is the best. And I don't know if I said it before or merely thought it but that is Yoko's most deepest and well written arc, it is the most powerful arc. It was SO human, I couldn't believe it. She didn't go for fanservice sympathties, come on you know what we're like, beat up, rape, tear apart and orphan a character and fans will role in like the wind-half will go-get over it, the other half will go awww-poor character so deep and full of angst. *roles eyes*

That was the first arc and the only manga story that I feel penetrated an abosulutely amazing level of depth and honesty. It was so real, to me even more so than Kyoto, (remember I'm talking about the manga version), I think it's difficult for certain people to see it, and I can't explain it or paper or computer for some reason.

Hisoka's character was at it's most real in it, Muraki's character at it's most cruel, and Tsubaki's character was brilliant, to hell with fanservice she is an outstanding written achievement, she really is and I shamelessly adore Yoko's charactization of this perceptive but scarred young girl. I also loved how Tsuzuki and Hisoka's relationship was displayed during this arc. It was very heartwarming amongst the death and pain and the last scene was a tear jerker.

Note:
I told my mum about Tsuzuki as a child and her reaction to his suffering was, "yeah well he had purple eyes", yeah, my mum is hard. I retold the King of swords arc to her and I swear on my soul she was geniunely upset, really upset, she was like oh noooooo. That is how good this manga arc is.

Anyway on the subject of Hibaki sex, myultimatesecretclosetpairingthatIhavetokeepquietorpeoplewilllynchme I actually read a drabble on the subject. We don't know to be honest, to tilt the argument less unbiasedly, I would say it's more unlikely than likely. But I think if they did it would have defintely made the story far more intricate and even cruel.

I don't think they Hisoka and Camlle had sex. (Though Tsuzuki spends the night in Hisoka's room..? XD) I think her close connection to, and love for, Muraki would freak Hisoka out if they ever truly were to get.. intimate.

Also.. he's still way too 'raw' so to speak, the trauma between him and Muraki was still only relativly recently revealed to him. (That and he keeps having nightmares/horrible visons curtosey of the mad doctor >.>)

And I'm rather saddened that they glossed over the whole "I'm using a new strain of peyote to breed an alternate personality in her" in the anime. I thought that was so incredibly clever, yet so totally ruthless and heartless..

This is probably my favorite arc after Devil's Trill and tied with Kyoto.

I like Ms. Hojo XD She was pretty, and rather interesting--totally self serving, but interesting

We'll never truly know that's for sure. I don't even know how it popped into my head. I really liked Tsubaki and I felt sorry for her. She met Muraki at such a young age and he did save her life so I think it was natural for her to devolop a crush on him. I also like Tsubaki for the fact that she knew Tsuzuki loves Hisoka. She really had wonderful insight on people. It was a beautifully done arc and I agree this was Matsushita at her best. I enjoyed the animated version as well but due to the shortness of the series they left out some really important parts. I really wished that they went deeper into the Muraki/Hisoka connection and how Hisoka feared that he would one day become like Muraki. Another favorite scene in the manga was when Hisoka was having that nightmare and he screamed out for Tsuzuki to save him. I think that Viz translated that part a little differently from Theria.net. In the Viz translation Tsuzuki said something like "He be embarrassed if he knew he called my name" whereas I believe Theria translation was something like he never would let me hold him like that when he's awake. That's not a direct translation so I'm not exactly sure if I'm correct in this. But if it is true then it seems to me that Tsuzuki is longing to be able to hold Hisoka. If that is the correct translation then I'm curious as to why Viz changed it so drastically.

Whoa.....really.....so am I, that's a very dramatic change.

I see what you mean about the Muraki connection, I was shocked at it when I went from anime to manga and how brilliantly done it was. The Muraki in people, like his in Tsubaki's love and Hisoka's revenge and their all connected to one man. They both can't escape. When they meet eachother Hisoka says Tsubaki looks farmilar and it is one of my favourite lines, it's like he can see the Muraki in her already.

The card game match was MUCH better in the manga and how Muraki being apart of people especially Hisoka and dominating apart of their hearts and lives so easilly and cruelly. It really is a fantastic arc.

I wonder, if under extreme circumstances would Hisoka ever become like Muraki. Its clear in this arc (at least in the manga) Hisoka fears that one day he'll become like Muraki. At the end he thought of himself as beng cruel because he killed Tsubaki. I don't think Hisoka could ever stoop to Muraki's level but I have to wonder how'll he'll react if he ever lost Tsuzuki.

Are you talking about Muraki's "death" or the part where Hisoka and Tsuzuki were getting dressed before Tsubaki came to their door? And damn, I never gave that part much thought before. Now I'm going have to watch that episode and speculate whether or not anything happened.

No, I'm talking about right after the card game. X3 When it looks like Muraki is going to town on Tsuzuki's ear/neck. haha <3
