the downs

i wanted to strangle the guy behind us. everything that happened he had a negative comment about. >> no really, dude, like you could not change costumes faster, not to mention the boots were probably the longest to put on. and flamingo's are a symbol of florida yes, but they're also croket sticks in alice in wonderland from which that particular performance was based on.

it bothered me quite a bit actually that people were late. and then they left early. she says "i'm sorry to say, but it's time to say goodbye" and about fifty people stood up and left. she then sang her "time to say goodbye" song as well as about three others. she waved, said a few words, and left stage...and even more people got up and left. now, i've never been to a concert before so maybe this is normal practice, but i found it very rude. especially the idea that they can blow $100s of dollars to not stay for the whole thing.

the ups

XD i put the downs first because i forwarn you that this is going to be long.

the sets

OMG i loved the sets to pieces! i really didn't understand what they meant about holographic sets, but wow. the back drops started out with art from her Symphony cd. the two that i was most impressed with, was the forest with the glowy lights that looked like giant fireflies, and the red firey like screene when she sang Deliver Me.

The costumes

<3 i'm in love with her costumes. every one of them. i was very amused that she was wearing both corsets and very very tall boots. my favorites were from her songs from her new Winter Symphony, and the first dress she came out in. she kind of appeared out of the stage like a ghost and she looked very victorian at first. as she walked towards the end of the stage, covered in gray veils, two hand maids came out behind her from the stage to remove her veils. she reminded me of some ghostly bride. for Deliver me, she came out wearing a pair of Amy Lee esque black feathered wings which i thought was quite amusing.

The Staging

Over all the performances were beautiful. i loved the dancers. we knew to get the camera ready when the dancers came out because that signified a costume change. my favorite chance routine were the ballerinas in red with the chorus line esque sticks *can't remember for the life of me what they're called.* I loved the 3d chandaliers that formed together out of stars on the back drop. complete with glass like tinging sounds.

the tennors

wow. <3 the asian looking man she sang Phantom with was simply adorable and his voice was very entrancing. i'm not usually a fan of male opera singers, but if this guy has a cd i'm going to get it. the second man was a bit older. i loved his hair. it was dark and curly. though honestly, his voice wasn't quite as good. but i did very much enjoy the songs they sang together.

the music

<3 ther were songs from Eden, Harem, La Luna, Symphony, Winter Symphoney, and several songs i don't believe are on cds. as well as her most popular covers of Dust in the Wind, and It's a Wonderful World. i do wish she had chosen Beautiful as one of her songs for the concert, but I was very surprised that Anytime Anywhere, and Deliver Me were there. D: i like almost cried half the time. her guitarist was staring at her almost the entire time and i just have to wonder what it's like to be so close. XD her entire entorauge of musicians and dancers were all very attractive as well.

and finally, I'M A GENIUS!!!

about ten minutes into the show, i got an idea i didn't really think would work. <3 but it did! i put the camera up to the binoculars and found i could see her really close. so i took a few pictures that way. Jani's pair were better so she took most of the pictures after that. she also took a lot of great videos. <3 i watched a bunch of them this morning.

omg wtf?!

out of all the people to run into, i ran into a woman i met a long time ago where my grandmother works. Oo and she was there. and like she saw me.

the pics

XD Sarah warrented me to make a whole new folder on photobucket for her. so here be the link.

I've never been to a concert before, but it seems to me that it's pretty rude of people to get up like that.

Besides that, I have to say you are so lucky to have gotten the chance to see Sarah Brightmant in concert!  She's my favorite singer Smile   I've seen her concerts on tv and she does always change costumes and have gorgeous sets so it must've been exciting to see in real life.  I bet you had loads of fun!

1989, that's pretty impressive.  I don't remember when I became a fan, but I think I was in high school.  I went to see The Phantom of the Opera on broadway with my high school French class and I remember thinking that the singer playing Christine wasn't nearly as good as Sarah Brightman.

True and she was the one to inspire Andrew Lloyd Webber to write the play.
