Cleared this with Coco, so now just looking to see if anyone would be interested.

There were two main ideas I thought of. The first idea I came up with when playing around with the YnM pairings generator was something I've tried before. A drabbles/ficlet challenge in which a big list of pairings and themes are posted in four categories- easy, medium, hard and crack. Easy pairings would be popular/plausible couples that interact in canon, such as "Hisoka and Tsuzuki, theme = promises". Medium would be less popular couples that do interact at some point and could happen- for example, Tsuzuki and Watari or Hijiri and Hisoka. Difficult would be very unpopular couples which may really dislike each other, or never meet in canon and therefore need a lot of work to bring them together in one fic- e.g. Hijiri and Tsubaki. And crack does exactly what it says on the tin- "Watari and Watson, theme = sunset".

The idea is that you then have a set period of time (two weeks? three weeks?) and attempt as many or few as you please. When the time's up, email or PM your efforts to one person, who will then post all entries under their categories. You get a set number of points simply for attempting a challenge, depending on the category and length. So a drabble of 100-500 words might get two points in the easy category, while a ficlet of 500-1000 words in medium might get six points, and a crack fic of over 1000 words might get twelve points. In addition, if people want to do this, there could be voting for favourites in each category so that the winning fic can get a few bonus points.

If that's too ambitious (although the idea is to play around with all the different pairings, not to write full length fics.. unless you really want to), the other idea would be the usual sort of challenge- people vote for a pairing and/or theme, the most popular idea then becomes the challenge. So it may be a pairing challenge such as "Write a fic about Konoe and Watson" or a theme "Write an AU in which the YnM cast are hod-carriers" or both "Hisoka and Tsuzuki are two enterprising young hod-carriers on the make..". People then have a set amount of time to write a fic for that pairing/theme.

So, firstly..
1. Would you be interested in taking part in a challenge?
2. Would you prefer a straightforward fic challenge, the multiple pairings challenge or something else altogether? These are just the first two ideas I had, so any other suggestions would be good.

If there's any interest, there's then the theme/pairings to choose and what sort of time people think should be allowed.

So yes I'd be mighty interested. In either type of challenge really...I kinda like the idea where there are no set pairings though (Though pairing challenges are fine too) however, I like the idea of having freedom.. yet at the same time also being forced to do something I might not normally do is a welcome exercise as well :3

I'd love to try, but the set amount of time might get me. Do you tell me the match or can I pick the people? ((LOL, if it's supposed to be a difficult one, that means we can't pair anyone up with Tsu-chan, as everybody already loves him^^))

I'm dumb, so I'm not sure I understand everything fully, but it sounds like a cool idea^^
