Chapter 1: The First Death

I'm finally complete with chapter one, after staying up till three o'clock last night writing it.

THE FIRST DEATH

It was dark, like every other night, but this one was different. It was special, as most people would call it. The aura around the darkness was blacker than the blackest night. There were no clouds in the sky, and yet a dark force had blocked the stars and moon. There was a twist of emotions in the air. A majority of fear and pain. Suddenly, slowly the scent of blood filled the air.

Hisoka shot up in bed with a scream. He was panting lightly and covered in a thin film of sweat. He was extremely pale; nothing that would otherwise be considered unusual, but the cause now was different. He didn't wake up screaming because of the unusual nightmare, or because of the red curse marks that flared to life and danced angrily across his skin like red ink that had been whipped across a pale sheet of printer paper. No, it was because of the strong emotions that fed and surrounded the dark aura of night.

The soft pad of footsteps echoed down the hall, each print accented by the fresh blood around it. A trail of crimson liquid followed the slow moving form. The boy's face was twisted in pain. His brown hair had a crimson tint and the hallway was soon soaked in the all too familiar scent of blood. The emotions were a giant web, refusing to reveal when fear stopped then pain started and vice-versa. It wasn't long before the boy fell limp and, thus it had begun...

Everyone had gathered in the meeting room at an early time the next morning. Tatsumi was passing out a folder with information on their soon to be next investigation. "The victim was 19 year old Ichigo Nitasawa. He was a student attending a private all boys academy in Kyoto. One of the younger students found him this morning in the hallway. Hisoka let out a small, audible gasp when he saw the picture of the boy. "Is something wrong?" Tsuzuki asked, his words muffled by the slice of apple pie shoved in his mouth. "I saw him in my dream last night." Hisoka whispered. The secretary looked at him and shook his head silently.

Chapter 2: Radiances of a Failure

This is the second chapter. It's not as scary as the first one, except for the last paragraph.

RADIANCES OF A FAILURE

Tsuzuki sighed, his eyes remained on Hisoka. The younger shinigami had fallen silent since they had arrived. "I'm going to find my room." Hisoka said softly as they left the office. He looked as his schedule. It was on a pale sheet of paper with his name and classes printed in professionally handwritten black ink. At the bottom was a number, he guessed it was his dorm number because located beside it were two names, printed in a red cursive handwriting. He didn't bother trying to read the cursive, he knew he wouldn't be able to. He stopped when he heard running behind him, then a green haired boy with pale gray ears and a matching tail hit him. "Oh, I'm so sorry." The boy said as he carefully helped Hisoka up. "Are you alright?" He asked before Hisoka fell unconscious into his arms.

"I don't know." A small, yet kind voice said as two boys looked over their new roommate. "Well, he did have the same number and those are our names." The older boy countered. "Ssh, Fail; he's waking up." The boy said softly. Emerald eyes looked at the two with a slight glaze. "Who are you?" Hisoka asked softly. "We're your roommates. I'm Fail and this is Renai." Fail explained before looking up as he heard loud footsteps echo down the hall. Him and Renai exchanged looks as they poked their heads out the door. The smell of blood flooded through their senses just as quickly as it flooded through the halls.

"That's the second student in two days." One teacher said as Tsuzuki pushed his way through. He let out a small gasp at the bloody scene before him. The boy was younger than the first victim. His pale violet eyes were open and glazed over, his mouth was open in a silent scream that never escaped his throat before his death. His pale violet hair was pulled back and tainted with the familiar crimson liquid. Carved into his chest were the words 'FAILURE, GAME OVER.' Tsuzuki closed his eyes to keep from crying out as they carried the limp body away.

Chapter 3: Trust and Love, Secrets and Lies

The third chapter and, like the second one, the last paragraph is the freakest. Don't worry though, it gets freaker in the next chapter I promise that.

TRUST AND LOVE, SECRETS AND LIES

Hisoka sighed lightly. It was their first night in the academy and already he was unable to get any sleep. A headache had overpowered his senses from the earlier discovery. He looked over at his two sleeping roommates. He closes his eyes, he'd admit he didn't trust them one bit; and who could blame him in a school with a murderer on the loose. He slowly got up and creeped across the floorboards. Making his way out of his room he suddenly felt uncomfortable and dizzy. He heard yelling down the hall and slowly made his way there, stopping as he looked around the corner. His eyes widened as he saw a teacher force himself on one of the younger students. "Stop it, leave me alone." The boy cried out, tears streaming down his face. Hisoka shivered at the emotions and fell to his knees as everything became blurry. The teacher pulled away from the boy and wiped himself off at the sound of a small thud. He walked around the corner and immediately noticed Hisoka. He sighed before picking him up and carrying him to the office. There he sat, till the boy woke up.

The boy woke up with a whimper. "Who are you?" Hisoka asked as he looked at the teacher. "Mr. Ichikiru. That's all you need to know." The man replied as he got up. "You are to stay here until the nurse says that you are permitted to go, then I want you to return straight to your dorm. It's almost midnight, I'd hate for a kid like you to have anything happen to them." He said as he walked out the door. Hisoka's eyes narrowed suspciously. People keep too many secrets here. He thought somewhat coldly. "Hisoka-kun." Fail said from the doorway. He was holding an envelope that had Hisoka's name written on it in a cursive that reminded him of the 'bubble' letters Tsuzuki often used when addressing cards. This, however was much better done, as if someone had perfectly transcribed the letters into a computer and they printed out that way. "Here, it's from me and Renai." Fail said as he gave Hisoka the card. "How did you do the letters?" He asked admiring the perfect size, structure, and curves of the cursive 'bubble' letters. "Oh that. Ask Renai, he does it for all of his projects so I suppose he'd know." Fail said laughing lightly. "Maybe." Hisoka whispered softly. "Are there any unusual secrets about the school?" Hisoka asked. His voice soudned more curious than suspicious. "I don't know." Fail said softly. "Okay, thanks." Hisoka said softly. "I'm sorry I can't tell you anything." Fail said softly. "No, that's fine." Hisoka said quickly, as he felt a tendril of guilt in the older boy's emotions.

Small footsteps echoed down the dimly lit hall. A cold, deadly smirk was on the dark figure's face. Everyone would get a horrifying surprise the next morning when they opened their refigerators for milk or juice to go with their breakfast. The student's death was more gruesome and painful this time. He'd give off little hints with each death, only because just revealing one victim after another...wasn't fun.

Wow, that is so creepy and good. You're doing a great job with creating the atmosphere for this story.
