Drabble: With Closed EyesA Nagare drabble, which portrays him as a bit more sympathetic then I think he truly is, but I still like how it turned out.
Nagare closes his eyes and he sees his children. He sees his daughter as she never was: a little girl dancing in the garden, laughter in her eyes.
He sees his son as he could have been: standing tall and proud, surpassing all expectations.
His daughter would have been a beauty, the light of his life. His son would have eclipsed them all, would have risen above their hate. With his eyes closed, he watches them grow.
But he can't close his eyes forever. Can't live in the fantasy. He opens them, and he is alone.
He supposes it is a fitting punishment.

That line is my favourite, very powerful.
An all together good piece of YnM drabble. Very much so enjoyed that little insight in Nagare's head. Despite the man he is, it could be possible that he like all people dreams about the could have beens. Thank you Veleda. A good short read.
