what would you change about the many arcs of Yami no Matsuei? What would you tweak? What would you mess with, to make it more dramatic, gory, romantic?

And, supposing that you would be able to make your own arc.. what would happen? who would be in it? Would you add a new character? A new villain?

Curiosity, chaos, and creativity abounds!

I would have had Tsuzuki and Hisoka kiss in the Kyoto arc. I meant they were mere inches away from doing so when Hisoka was comforting Tsuzuki!

I also would have changed the Devil's Trill a little or at least added more about the Tsuzuki/Hisoka relationship. Its obvious that Hijiri has feelings for Tsuzuki and Tsuzuki certainly flirted with him and I do think that at least a part of it was because he looked like Hisoka. Saganatsu (sp?) was able to see into Tsuzuki's memories and so he must have known something about Hisoka. Just think of the drama that could have ensued when Hisoka confronted possessed Tsuzuki.

I would soooo add another arc later in the manga where Hijiri reappears. Something like he's grown up some and he meets up with them because someone he cares a lot about was killed by a demon and he's hunting the thing, no matter how much they tell him that he shouldn't.

I love to see Hijiri come back. Yoko did say that she might bring him back sometime. It would also be interesting to see Hijiri bein drawn as a little older. Would he be a famous violin player the next time they see him? Would Tsuzuki flirt with him like in the Devil's Trill arc? It would be awesome to see Hi-chan again!

lol, and wouldn't it be great if there was an arc that was acting like the ending season show of a televised broadcast? Like.... random arc where they re-meet all of the people they met before? XDD fun XD I can see it now....

Hisoka walks into a room to find hijiri and Hisae fighting. "HE'S MINE!!!" "NO, MINE!!!" "HANDS OFF!!!" "NO WAY!!!! GET YOU GRUBBY MITTS OFFA HIM!!!!!" Tsuzuki's in the middle and he's got the puppy ears and tail, whimpering. He gives Hisoka a pleading look and Hisoka sighs and pulls him away from them. "You're both wrong," he says, "he's mine."

I think there was a really really funny fic up on Squidkitty about Hisoka turning into a girl, and having Oriya's baby, or sth.

Yeah there was a fic where Hisoka was turned into a girl and in order to turn back he had to lose his virginty. He went to Oriya for this problem and 9 months later he appeared claiming the baby was Oriya's but it turned out he was only joking.

I would like to see more about Hisoka's past with his parents, like what kind of family were they before they discovered Hisoka's empathy. Also, I would like to see the reaction of the village when Hisoka became ill from Muraki's curse. Were they scared about what would happen when the Kurosaki heir died?

I would have liked to have seen more on Muraki's past in Kyoto, not in detail mind you, but precise glimspes that would tell you a bit more, especially concerning Saki and he's mother--which I'm sure we only see in the book anyway. Mysterious shots of Ukyou would of been a nice touch as well.

I would've liked to have an arc that reveals something shocking about Watari. And it would be nice to learn how the hell these random, ridiculously chirpy cracked out girls of Hokkadio came to be shimigami's, I mean, wtf, because Saya and Yuma just don't much fit the bill. Other than the fact they're dead.

I think--I can't remember the name of the arc but the search for the counts mask was a bit funny but could of been more interesting, and I would have liked to have known a bit more on the counts connection to Tsuzuki because I was all WTF when I saw the end of that.

Is it so bad that I wanted (book)Ruka/Tsuzuki and Tsuzuki to kiss a bit when she comforts him i.e gives him a taste of he's own medicine.

Dammit I wanted Terazuma to kiss Hisoka in the archery contest, that's what I wanted from that arc dammit, and then everybodies facial expressions afterwards ^__^

In a book saturated with yaoi it would of been nice to have seen more indepth Chisuruu and Rika in book six I think.

I agree that I would love to find out more about Watari's past. I also would like to know more about Tatsumi as well.

I'm not sure if at this date I would be interested in knowing much about Tatsumi's past as I would of been during book 5, which I thought was sweet but not one of the best books of the series. I'm probably most curious about Tatsumi's /royal/ lifestyle and how he's mother actually looked. And most important of all, whether he really killed her or not......which right there would be one thing I'd tweak. I would have loved to see small flash backs or hints where there may not have been answers, but at least clues as to whether he actually killed the woman, or how she died, since that always shocked me.

The fact that Tatsumi's from a royal family is also what I'm most interested in. I'm also curious if he really killed his own mother or did he feel that he was responsible for her death.

It was made in the manga that Muraki had killed his mother, but in the anime it was mentioned that Saki did it, strange really. I am most intrigued at learning about Muraki's past. What could have went so wrong, that caused the good doctor to go all bonkers in the first place?

I totally agree. One of the most interesting things about YnM, is that everyone is probably more deadly than Muraki is and easilly capable of obliterating the doctor if they tried. The only real weopon that Muraki seems to truly have other than a few low level demons, is he's mind, without that I don't think he'd have survived so long.

But yea, Tatsumi kicked Muraki's but, and the way the music came in on the entrance in the anime was so brilliant. I love that scene. I think it's lack of length is an indication that Muraki wouldn't be in the next book or episode if it was any longer, but yeah, I wouldn't have minded seeing them meet eachother again, when Muraki was more prepared, can you imagine the mind fuck.

But yes, we need more info on Tatsumi and Muraki's mothers. Two guys you never say "your mom" to.

funny thing is, they really do have something that Muraki doesn't. More power, true, and perhaps, more capabilities. But I think, though, what they have most that matters is the fact that they have compassion. Even if a guy like Muraki really DOES exsist, and inflicts so much damage, the romantic in me likes to think that the shinigami are too mindful of the fact that if they really DO kill him, they'd be obliterating a human life, even if he's so inhumane. 8D;

No. That's a very good point. I think there's also juridisctions against taking lives as well. Saying that, I think incapacitating Muraki at least would be called for, something all the Shimigami should be capable of, hell with no powers at all Oriya can kick he's ass, (literally--but then again Oriya is coolness personified), but Muraki's mind games and tactic's always seem to trip them up.

The shinigami... it goes against the 'rules' to kill without absolute necessity, ir something. I think.

I think the "descendents of darkness" thing is what makes me think, more than the eye, the constant survivals and dabbles in the occult, that Muraki is more than a simple human. Even if he was human once I doubt he is still fully human now.

Vol 1 Muraki:

I am you and you are me...I am a wandering fiend in need of blood to quench my thirst. We were born from the belly of the same woman...

Vol 8 Muraki:

"You and I are the same breed. We're abominations, the products of genetic expierements that violated the laws of nature. We who were born in darkness must walk in darkness. Okay Yoko can NOT put quotes like that in her book and expect us to think that Muraki is fully human. She just....ca not do that...no..

Yeah, I have to agree that Muraki isn't entirely human. How much of him is human is really hard to say. He does go on, in either vol 7 or 8, about how he's able to cleanse himself of all sin and maybe that's one of the reasons why he can continue to commit murder and who knows what else.

If you go to Luna's lj you'll find that she has alot of insightful posts on Yami no Matusei. She makes alot of good points and while I don't agree with everything she says, for the most part she's right on.
