KONNICHIWA MINNASAN!Konnichi wa Minnasan!
My name is Ashuri (but it's really Ashley) and I live in New Mexico (soon, hopefully, to be back in Texas) in the USA.
I was born June 10th, 1985, which makes me 23, a Gemini (yes, I do have two sides, it's scary), and my Chinese Zodiac is the Ox.
I'm in my last semester of nabbing my degree in English, and I've already got my minor in Creative Writing. I'd have minored in Japanese as well, because I've been taking that for seven semesters now, but our sensei isn't a full-time faculty member, and thus it's impossible to major in it.
I'm kind of an Otaku of anything related to Japan... but not annoyingly so. It's more like I've got a huge appreciation of their culture, school system (why can't we make students actually DO their work?), and their anime, video game, manga, and music franchise. Oh, and their food. Definitely their food... I want unagi now... *cries*
I spend a lot of my free time RPing in my Guild on GaiaOnline, and I enjoy various Anime RPGs over anything else at the moment.
I love to play video games... especially Final Fantasy ones. Lately though, I've been addicted to playing Zelda: Twilight Princess on my roommate's Wii (a co-worker let me borrow the game). I can spend an entire day playing video games!
I also love to read Manga and Fanfiction (preferably fanfiction relating to the anime Slayers, or the anime Yami no Matsuei (with a Watari x Tatsumi pairing), and Lord of the Rings fanfiction that deals with the friendship between Legolas and Aragon... like the Mellon Chronicles).
In my other moments of random spare time, I write, draw, read fantasy novels (I'm a huge Tolkien fan, R.A. Salvatore, Dragonlance (with Raistlin) and Star Wars mostly), read manga, watch anime, play video games, and listen to music.
Now... my music collection is about 70% Japanese, 20% Soundtracks, and 10% random English music (which is mostly composed of Josh Groban cds). I adore Gackt, Josh Groban, Hyde, Tomokazu Seki, Hayashibara Megumi, BoA, Hamasaki Ayumi, Takehito Koyasu, and various others.
I'm also a huge connoisseur of seiyuu (Japanese voice actors) and will watch anything that sports; Tomokazu Seki, Takehito Koyasu, Ishida Akira, Shinichirou Miki, Yuuki Hiro, Toshihiko Seki, Inoue Kazuhiko, or Mamoru Miyano.
Food...
Hmmm... I'm really hungry right now...
I love rice and noodles of any form. My absolute favorite meal of all time is Nabemono (Japanese Hot Pot) but I love Manjuu as a snack as well. The only food I can't stand (because I'm like deathly allergic to it) is the food dye Red #40. But luckily for me, most of the sweets I tend to buy are Japanese sweets... and they use natural food colorings.

And I love Tea... with a passion.

I have a small black and white poodle named Guenhwyvar, thus I obviously love poodles, but my favorite animal of all time is the shark. My least favorite animal (mainly because I see it and get scared shitless every time) is the lionfish. BOO!!! HISS!!!

I guess I should talk about my "Yami no Matsuei" love, ne?
Well, I ADORE Watari Yutaka. Like, seriously adore him! But I also sport a love of Muraki and his evil bastard ways. He's my favorite villain ever conceived (I like him even more than I like Sephiroth... GASP!). He's complex, and yet not, and I love to delve into the doctor's mind and figure out what makes him tick.
And I love so many YnM pairings too...
Tsuzuki x Hisoka / Tsuzuki x Tatsumi / Tsuzuki x Muraki / Muraki x Hisoka / Muraki x Oriya / and... my favorite... Watari x Tatsumi!

Sadly, none of my RL friends are familar with anime so they definitely don't know anything about YnM. Thank God for online friends

do you go to universal studios? i'm going friday to get my yearly park pass so after that i can get i believe up to six people in for half price. it's about half way between the two of us. :p hell if i can get a job i'd pay the other half.

well screw that. i can't get anyone in half price now because my aunt is bitch. we got the cheaper one. big fucking deal. i can't go with anyone. gawd i'm so fucking upset. i was really looking forward to that. :/ i'm sorry laustic. but hey when i get a job i'm totally taking you there. D: if i can get a friging job! T_T my life sucks.

Thanks for the invite anyway  It is upsetting to be looking forward to something only to have it pulled out right from under you. I'm sure we'll get to go sometime!
