Prize (Hisoka/Oriya)Oriya cannot think of a more beautiful evening than this. A cool breeze, falling sakura, and the company…Metal strikes against metal, and the sound seems like music. Kurosaki moves back, panting. Oriya smiles. “Are you giving up already?” Kurosaki raises his sword. “Tonight, I will bring you down.” It strikes Oriya as funny. “Is this a game? Knock me down, win a prize?” Kurosaki growls and attacks with a shout. The sound makes Oriya’s blood race, and he responds in kind. How many nights have passed in this manner? How many times has Kurosaki appeared at Oriya’s door? They battle, swords clashing and bodies pressed close. All too soon, Kurosaki leaves, defeated, yet still undeterred, and Oriya is left alone. “Am I so weak that you can afford to let your mind wander?” Kurosaki’s voice shakes Oriya from his thoughts. He shakes his head. “Not at all, forgive me.” He thrusts, and Kurosaki parries. He is improving constantly; Oriya is pleased. Perhaps he should have spent less time being pleased and more time guarding; as it is, he’s not prepared when Kurosaki unexpectedly twists his sword, and sends Oriya’s flying. Oriya fumbles, and Kurosaki uses the opportunity the sweep his legs out from under him. Oriya drops to the ground. Kurosaki looks at him with concern. “Are you hurt?” “Only my pride.” Oriya smiles. “So, do you know what prize you want?” For a long moment Kurosaki simply looks at him. “I do,” he says finally. He kneels, and shocks Oriya for the second time that night as he presses their lips together. The kiss is warm and leaves Oriya hungry for more. He pulls the young man close. “I think it’s time to move this battle to a different arena.” Kurosaki nods. Oriya cannot imagine a better evening. |

I can't believe that so many of you have never read Oriya/Hisoka before. I feel like my dinky little fic isn't a proper introduction to the pairing. Run, don't walk, and read My Heart a Hunter by Rana Eros. It's so, so good. |
