HAHAHA I love the last one!!
Those are great! I've never seen any cosplay for YnM, only one I came across once so it's great to have someone post up some stuff. Oh yes and where was that? A at a convention??
And what's a thrift store??
Anyway thanks for posting I enjoyed seeing your cosplay pictures, if you are ever able to post more please don't hesitate.

T_T yes we YnM cosplayers are a dying breed There was a Watari the first day that I didn't even see, and I was the only ones after that. HAHA I went to the rave as Muraki and got to scare my best friend. ^^ thanks!
thrift store: people come in and give their old stuff *jewelery, clothes, furniture, and sometimes even bath tubs and sinks.* and then we pull out what's good enough to sell and sell it to other people. ours is done under a charity. It's fun to work there until the slow season when hardly anyone comes shopping, or donating and there's three of us with nothing to do for hours on end. XD most of the jewelery you see on my Hisoka costume came from there. I love working the donations because we get first dibs and nice discounts.

Sounds like pawning or however you say it or spell it. But that does sound like fun, when they're customers like you said.
I'm not sure if there were ever a lot of YnM cosplayers once upon a time, but I think your right on the whole dying breed thing, because I hardly see it. Cosplaying I always imagined must be hard work too, making or finding the right costumes, and we all know anime likes to dress up their characters in more then a shirt and jeans, and then there's the hair...but it must be worth it in the end I imagine. ^_^ _________________

rofl, i love the last one too! all of them are great though, # 2 is compleley awesome (candy and all), and puppy tsuzuki and maria wong are awesome.
i think one of the reasons that ynm is so undercosplayed is that the costumes aren't very recognizable, at least compared with other anime characters. I'm sure many people walk right past someone dressed in a orange tee shirt and jeans and not even know they were cosplaying. Whereas if you're walking in an orange tee shirt and jeans and have a leaf headband on, someone might say, "oh, of course, it's naruto!" |

Ah that's very true, a though that crossed my mind as I was writting 'bout cosplaying that doesn't usually involve a shirt and jeans. lol!!
And that Naruto statement is very true. Still I always thought the under-played nature of YnM clothing would encourage people to cosplay more, because since there's less to do it'd be easier to get the result you want. Though that might just be my wacked out logic talking there. _________________

something to the efect, yes. haha lucky for me i had my camera that day. my usual work or just outing attire is the black slacks and white dress shirt, so all i had to do was borrow one of the mens coat jackets and the trench coat had just come in so i was like OHHH pictures!!!!! LOL depends on what you cosplay and how well you can sew. I can't sew at all so i always go for store bought stuff. I was actually stopped several times when i was inu-tsuzuki. XD and i got attacked by a fangirl. she was layong on this couch and i went up to the first person i saw which was her and i leaned over cause it was loud and i open my mouth to ask hwer where the cosplay sign up is and all the sudden she grabs my tie and pulls me coser and yells "TSUZUKI!!!" XD she then prompty tackle glomped me. i was very amused. LMAO the hair reminds me that the wig i used for inu tsuzuki had to be cut from a cheerleader thing and turned out very bad. *as you might be able to see.* |

YAY! LOL naruto= the most over cosplayed costumes ever. with allucard coming in from a close second and tied with vash the stampeed. i think i liked it better when there were five hundred sailor moons running around. HAHAHAHA i shuld wear muraki next year and put the naruto head band on! muraki has invaded the dubs! |

well really YnM's problem is that it's been mainstreemed in a dub with all 4 kids voice actors. so you have the ones that are old enough to cosplay who won't touch it because ZOMG yami yugi is tsuzuki! and then the 12-15 year old who have gotten into it, aren't old enough to cosplay or even most don't go to cons. and the people like me who came across it before it was even big in japan, are few and far between. |

Hey, I'm still keeping up the good fight wherever I go. I won't upload any pictures, but for the past two years, I've been cosplaying as Tsuzuki. Sure my build, hair, and eyes aren't perfect, but I dye my hair and make great steps in my costume. One time I fashioned a tie out of black pantyhose, and at the latest con I carried around a Cinnabon box and had pinned a mini sign to my coat saying " I HEART Kurosaki Hisoka".
I don't see any other YnMers at the cons, though, which makes me sad. _________________
