Oh bless Paurie, you remind me of me, like when my mum watches those X factor shows where the contestants sing, and you hear them and you can clearly see that the avenue for singing isn't for them, since, they, like, you know, sound like several drowing cats in heat-to be a bit cruel.
But yet, to themselves, they sound....well, perfect. And it's really quite scary, as much as people might call you a comment whore or a praise whore or an attention seeker, or as much as you might refer to yourself as these things............with only your own closed view on your own work.......how can you be so sure what you're doing is good, it could all be an illusion, just like those people who sing on talent contests.
Its when several people share your view, you feel as though it's more validated because they're seeing the same thing you are, making you feel more confident in your opiniouns whilst making it more real and reliable to believe in.
Its the same with everything, its hard to believe in one thing, if everybody believes in another.
Even if one believes their work is crap it's possible to consider the fact it might not be, if several people disagree with that view.
Truth by numbers my friend.
Despite this, don't worry about what other people think. I'm telling you in honesty, you are not disilluioned, you ARE a talented artist, and what you see is the same as what I do, it's good to feel insecure in some aspects as it pushes you to do better and get better, and if having others make you feel good about yourself whilst making them happy to get your art is part or the main reason why you give us all these fantastic art works in the first place, then there's nothing wrong with that. Just try to be more confident and draw to share with others as oppose to for others, or you will probably lose interest in drawing or dry yourself out.
Did any of that make sense??
Now, comments:
Chibi in colour made me giggle out loud, it was so sweet I'm still picking teeth out of the keyboard, I love the blush and the faces!!! Beautiful and cute in everyway-you're a wonderful chibi artist! I'm impressed! Great colours too!
So I was surprised to see a more serious picture from you today, and impressed that it was done so well, very sombre but yet very professional line drawings. The expression on the face is very deep and soulful. And I love the errie trickle of blood. Well done and thanks for sharing these! I enjoyed looking at them this morning! _________________

I think I'm going to copy and paste this post some where so I can read it more often. :']
Made me feel a lot better, and I was glad you knew what I talking about there. Thank you, really. :3 _________________

No problem. I think I rambled a bit and wasn't sure if I got my point across, in the end there's probably no such thing as truth-only points of views.
I'm sure those people on those contests had loved one egging them on, loved ones who also believed that person could sing. What their loved ones probably heard was most likely blinded by the affection they felt for that person, but once again, having that many loved ones tell you, you can sing-validates the view that you really can. And then suddenly you go on a contest and have an even larger amount of people tell you you can't-ouch, talk about a blow to your reality. (and sense of self-world of doubt or denial here I come)
People who are aware of this on some level naturally feel edgy about their talents, "is what I believe true, I need others to tell me, wait-is what others telling me true or are they disilluioned by what they think of me-or what they think they should say-oh crap I don't know". I think a lot of people are like that, so your doubt is natural, just channel it to your advantage and use it better your work.
Rant over O.o
I do try my best to be honest, so keep the art coming cos I like to see them and they cheer me up, especially the chibi's, I giggled when I saw it coloured today. And good to see you on! ^.^ been awhile.......
