Tatsumi: He stopped so he could turn in Watari's direction. "Why not?"

Watari: "Be... because... there's... something bad back there. I can feel it." He looked slightly embarressed at admitting that, even with the sharp discomfort and worry across his features.

Tatsumi: Tatsumi smiled at him reassuringly. "I'll be fine. Please stay there." He felt uneasy about leaving the blond alone, but this was as close as he'd felt to actually learning something on this case.

Watari: "....But... what if.. something happens to you?"

Tatsumi: "I'm just going to look, Watari. But if that were to happen, you should leave immediately," he said firmly.

Watari: "I can't do that!"

Tatsumi: He smiled again. "You would obviously be leaving for help. Now please wait there, or better yet, wait outside."

Watari: Watari crossed his arms. "Well I won't know if I need to go for help if I wait out there, now will I?"

Tatsumi: "You'll feel it." he said in confidence. Besides... I don't really mean help as in helping me. Tatsumi was also close to just bringing Watari with him, but if there was something bad back there, then he would have to explain an awful lot. Tatsumi would have to change his speech to 'Don't poke your nose in the business of the Ministry.'

Watari: "I'm staying right here," the boy said stubbornly.

Tatsumi: "Alright." He said it as if he had won the argument. Tatsumi turned around and continued walking to the back area.

Watari: Watari watched him go... but as he waited he got more antsy and less comfortable. After considering the risks, he followed, quietly--just meaning to observe, but not interfere.

Tatsumi: Normally, Tatsumi would have noticed, but he was too close to it, too focused. He disappeared from sight as he turned a corner and walked back stage.

Watari: Watari concealed himself behind the iron stairwell leading up to the catwalks, the dark hid him handily enough, and he could see most of the area. All the lights were off, except for two exit signs, and a red light indicating a fire alarm.

Tatsumi: He turned his head slightly, finally catching on that Watari was following him from a distance. The shadows the boy hid in came to life, but held still. Tatsumi walked on, his own foot steps painfully loud. He would have been out of luck if he'd only had his eye sight to count on.... He was letting his shadow lead him farther into the darkness.

Watari: Watari grasped the iron rungs as he felt that, but... he wasn't afraid. Simply intrigued. Curiosity killed the cat...but satisfaction brought it back. He wet his lips as he tried to follow the slight movement of Tatsumi's form.

Tatsumi: One step closer and the thing suddenly moved, bursting with speed it ran from him. Tatsumi's shadows followed, but were unable to catch it, much less keep up with it.

Watari: All Watari could see (and feel) was darkness moving, one a thicker, thornier darkness, and the other smooth as glass, elegant as obsidian. He took in a breath, without realizing it.

Tatsumi: Before he knew it, something had wrapped around his ankle and pulled, causing him to fall. No, it definitely wasn't running. Tatsumi reached down to untangle himself from whatever it was, but his skin was cut by something cold. (The shadows around Watari strengthened.)

Watari: And once again, Watari felt that curious other sensation... like dust or mist, but only in the very back of his head, he was overwhelmed by the much stronger activity all around him. What....is going on?

Tatsumi: The thing suddenly let him go and began to move around with haste once again. His wound was already healing, but it had still burned like fire, though the touch was cold. Tatsumi could force his shadow to go into a berserk-like state and have at the thing, but he really didn't feel like paying for the damage it would surely do to this back room. He made his own barriers stronger to hopefully prevent from being taken off guard and attacked again.

Watari: Watari was suddenly choking, as if something was smothering him. (And oh lords it burned! Worse than the chemical vapors he'd accidentally breathed.) It was also terribly frustrating, he tried to cough but he couldn't, and there was nothing to grab onto.. just nothing...

Nothing that was slowly.. getting a little more solid--especially when the... other blackness latched on and tried to prise apart his jaw. Owowowowowowowowow...

Tatsumi: The shadows that had worked on hiding Watari in more ways than one were now going on the offensive. They moved, small pin shaped shadows attacking the other unidentified darkness that was harming the blond. The sound of Tatsumi's hurried footsteps could be heard, the man hurrying to come to Watari's aide.

Watari: The other darkness moved away, not liking the resistence, it zipped away, heading towards the air ventilation system, to hide in the air ducts from those pins and needles. Watari made a noise as he was released. His hand was bleeding from where he'd instinctively reached up to try and fight off his... assailant. His jaw hurt too, and he probably had a cut or two on his jaw, but nothing serious. Hurt like a bitch though, like salt had been rubbed in the wound.

Tatsumi: Tatsumi wouldn't have minded some light now. He rushed to Watari's side just as the thing had made a dash for the vent. (His shadow followed after until he had lost track of it.) Tatsumi could just barely make out the dark liquid, slight bleeding from a small wound, against Watari's paler skin. "Are you alright?!"

Watari: "I'm fine..." Though his voice was a bit tight as he gripped his wrist. "I'm fine." He said again.

Tatsumi: He forced them into an area with better lighting and took Watari's wrist gently to get a better look.

Watari: "It's.. it's okay really. Just... burns a little." It was a shallow wound, but widespread, almost as though Watari had skinned the better part of his hand badly, his palm and fingers.

Tatsumi: He wasn't an expert on wounds, but Watari's probably looked worse than it was. They'd bandage it up later. "Come on." Tatsumi said, leading them to one of those red lit exit doors.

Watari: Watari followed him, a bit more withdrawn and quiet than before.

Tatsumi: It felt good(and safer) to be out of those shadows. Even if some had been his own. Well, I've confirmed that it isn't human at least. Tatsumi turned around to give Watari a concerned look, and one more look over for injury.

Watari: Watari held the inside of his lip between his teeth, "Stings... I don't know how I'll be able to write like this.."

Tatsumi: Tatsumi looked at the scratched covering the fair skin one more time, in better lighting. "Is it just stinging??"

Watari: Watari nodded in confirmation.

Tatsumi: "Where's the infirmary here? Or.... nurse's office..." He wasn't sure which.

Watari: "Um, oh, there's an emergency station in the union for things like this. That's the closest one."

Tatsumi: Tatsumi had the strangest instinct to grab the boy's hand and lead him along to where he could get help. Of course, he didn't know the way, so he simply shoved that annoying thought aside. He waited for Watari to lead the way.

Watari: Watari seemed almost to be expecting that as well. "Oh, uh, right..." And he started walking, still grasping his wrist.

Tatsumi: Tatsumi chose to walk in silence, because the more he thought, the more annoyed he became. He couldn't keep up with the thing. It had attacked Watari, who had followed him. It got away.

Watari: "You don't happen to have a handkercheif or something do you?" The urge to wipe the blood off was becoming rather nagging, and he really didn't want to have to clean it out of his shirt or pants later.

Tatsumi: That had snapped him out of his thoughts. Tatsumi stopped to search his pocket inside his jacket and pulled out a handkercheif, handing it to Watari. His eyes ran over the blood from the boy's wrist and hecould actually feel the color leaving his face. It just reminded him too much of Tsuzuki.

Watari: Watari clenched his hand around it painfully, oh it hurt to move. But he was more concerned about his companion. He held the kerchief in place with the other hand, covering the blood, "Tatsumi-san? Are you alright?"

Tatsumi: Tatsumi hadn't taken his eyes off of the other's wounds. (Was it him or did they look like they were getting... worse?) "I'm fine, it didn't hurt me," he answered.

Watari: "What about your leg?"

Tatsumi: "Hm?" He blinked, confused. When he glanced down at his legs, he saw that where the thing had grabbed him had cut right through one of pants legs. For the love of- "Well... seems it damaged my clothing is all," he said, irritated.

Watari: "I'm sorry," the boy said suddenly.

Tatsumi: "Sorry? For what?"

Watari: "For following you when you said not to."

Tatsumi: He thought about that for a moment. "We're both sorry. I knew you followed, I should have made you turn back around when I noticed." But even with a shadow on defense around you, that thing still managed to get you.

Watari: "Y-you knew~!?"

Tatsumi: He found himself smiling. "Thought you were unnoticed, didn't you?"

Watari: Watari turned a little red, "W-well... yeah....kinda."

Tatsumi: Tatsumi stepped closer, laying a hand over Watari's left shoulder. "I'm sorry I didn't make it to you sooner."

Watari: "It's okay. I'm fine."

Tatsumi: "You're hurt. I don't really qualify that as 'fine,'" he said while smiling again.

Watari: "I'll live," Watari said, rolling his eyes. "Don't be so dramatic. And maybe I'll get some sympathy from my teachers and get something to tape their lectures with."

Tatsumi: Tatsumi's smile fell. 'I am not being dramatic!' He turned around and began walking again. And... Oh wonderful, Tatsumi was sure it had been over an hour now.
