If looks could kill Hijiri was sure that the rebound would kill him as well. He offered a slightly fearful smile. "Erm... we were just on our way to see Hisoka. We need his help because we can't seem to find out anything about what's going on with the thing inside my head." Watari smiled more normally at Hijiri.

"Really?" he asked, "but I thought that I might be able to help you with that."

"We don't want your help," Kira enunciates clearly. "Now get out of my way, doctor."

She tries to push back the doctor, but he uses the height advantage- Watari, however, did just one thing.

He yanked on the ribbon holding back his massive curls, and Kira got a faceful of hair.

"Oops," the Osakan smirked.

Hijiri stared at this, shocked. Personally he liked Watari's hair. It had gotten a lot longer than it used to be and he really didn't see a problem with it, but from the look on Kira's face, she most certainly didn't like it.

"Language," Watari cut in cheerfully. "I toned down the formula, don't you like it?" Another devilish smile adorned his face, and Kira looked fit to explode.

"Like it? LIKE IT? What the hell are you doing here in the main lobby anyhow? You basta-" Kira would've gone on a full-out rampage, if Hisoka didn't make his appearance in the west corridor, crossing the lobby.

Hijiri lifted an arm, waving at him and taking Kira by the arm (and mentally wincing in hopes that she wouldn't beat him into the floor) and pulling her in the direction of the blond empath. "Hisoka! Hey Hisoka!" The empath paused and turned slightly.

"Hijiri?" he said, sounding surprised. Watari had mentioned that Hijiri had become Kira's trainee, but Hisoka hadn't expected to see them in their department. "What are you doing here?" Hijiri paused to look at Kira to make sure that she wasn't about to go kill the blond scientist.

"I.. am.. going.. to .." But whatever Kira was planning on doing, nobody could hear- the effect made her groggy and slow.

Watari, seemingly satisfied with the job, re-tied his hair and practically skipped away with the happiness of a prank well pulled- no pun intended.

She felt herself being tugged along, and heard Hisoka's voice. Kira hauled herself up on her own two feet, dusted imaginary specks off of her suit jacket, and tried to look lucid. "We need your help."

Hisoka looked at them for a moment, then nodded. Apparently the fact that neither of the two knew how to mentally shield made it easier for him to tell without even trying that what they needed his help with was very important. "Come to the back office," he said, "We'll have less noise to contend with." He led the way, his face uninterested as he moved. Hijiri looked at Kira before he followed, wordlessly asking if she was alright.

"I'm exhausted, you-" Kira would've demanded a challenge to restore her honor, had she been professional and... Watari-avoidant. But her voice was still considerably weak, and the coffee mug was empty- casting a shield would've taken too much. She followed Hisoka, and caught Hijiri's sidelong glance.

"I'll be fine," she promised wearily. "I'll just remember to rip his annoying guts out before I leave."

Hijiri winced slightly as he moved along beside yet slightly behind her. Soon they were at a new office. Judging by the boxes around, Hisoka and Tsuzuki were new to this room which smelled like fresh paint. Hijiri grinned. "You guys finally got your own office?" he asked. Hisoka shrugged.

"Tatsumi was tired of listening to Tsuzuki snore," he said carelessly. Tsuzuki, who was at one of the desks with some wrapped sweet before him, frowned at his partner.

"You're so mean, Hisoka," he said, "I don't snore." Hisoka shook his head, as though it was an arguement they'd had before and he just didn't want to get into it. Tsuzuki caught the look and turned his attention to Hijiri and Kira. As though he'd just realized who it was, he stood from the desk in surprise and rushed around, picking up Hijiri in a tight hug. "Hey there!!! long time no see!!"
