Konoe grimaced and shook his head slowly. "No way," he said, "I wouldn't do that. But you have to learn to make nice with him. He's going with you and Tsuzuki on your next assignment. He needs the training and you two are in the least busy sector for the season. Watari will be going as well as assistance. We think that you'll need it for this case." He dropped a folder in Hisoka's lap, staring down at him. "I'm confident that you can do this. But are you?"

Hisoka looked at the file and then at Watari. "Do you know about this?" Watari sighed deeply. "Not entirely. He called me at the same time as you."

He flipped through the file, reading it slowly. "I...think so. i'm just not sure with him..." He frowned. "I'm not sure Tsuzuki can. This is...really familiar. I thought the violin was destroyed."

Watari nodded. "It was. it must be a different one." Hisoka was silent for a long moment. "Okay. I think i can do this. it can't be as bad as Sagatanasu right?"

Konoe was about to answer, but Nagare's head poked into the door. "Didn't you say something about a level 5 possession?" he asked, keeping his eyes off of Hisoka for fear of infuriating him again. The chief nodded.

"The thing is, the person who was possessed is supposed to be dead, but hasn't died yet due to the demon within them." Nagare frowned.

"Why do I have to go there?" he asked, "you said yourself that you are confident in Kurosaki's abilities. So why can't I go clear up what's going on in Kamakura instead? After all, it is MY hometown. Since I'm not actually dead, then what's the problem?"

Hisoka's eyes widened. "possessed?! wait, what the hell is going on here?! Konoe...i want to talk to you alone!"

Watari sighed and stood. "I'll go break the news to Tsuzuki..."

As Watari walked out, the door snapped shut, Nagare apparently deciding he'd taken the wrong time to speak since he was being ignored. Konoe sighed and sat down again in the chair behind his desk. "What?" he asked, sounding a bit more tired than he'd meant to.

Hisoka glaired at him. "Without anyone interrupting i want to know what the hell he was talking about? my father wasn't possessed and if he's not dead there's no way he could be here now. living people cannot be shinigami. I've been here long enough to at least know that!"

Watari gave a glance at Nagare as he left, a 'Stay put.' in his eyes. He walked down the hall with a heavy sigh. He genuinely liked Tsuzuki, but he was secretly very jelous of his friend. His heart ached for Hisoka and it killed him to some point that he was Tsuzuki's.

Konoe stared at him. "What are you talking about, Kurosaki?" he asked, "he was speaking of the next mission. The man who is supposed to be dead is alive due to the contract with the demon. Kurosaki-san has beed trained as a demon hunter since he's been here for a month. They sent him to us because they don't know why he's there. Apperantly they didn't check the list because it happens so rarely."

Hisoka was silent for a moment. "oh..." He closed his eyes. "i'm just very stressed out by this. do you have any idea what that man did to me? he might as well have been my murderer for all the love and kindness he showed me. you can't understand how upset this makes me. so why is he here? if he's being trained as a demon hunter he should be with Kira shouldn't he?"

Konoe frowned. Hisoka was never this open about his life. A minute thought about Hisoka having been switched off with someone else flitted through his mind before he mentally shook himself. Hisoka also never complained about stress.

"I just told you," Konoe said, "they don't know what to do with him. Since he's technically alive, he shouldn't be here at all. But it wasn't known that he was supposed to be alive. I don't know what you went through in your life exactily, though I do have an idea, and I know it wasn't exactily pleasant. But you have to work through this. It isn't just about you. We have to figure out why he's here and without most of his memory. If ic happens to him, it could happen to somebody else as well, do you understand? I'm njot expecting you to make nice with him, just get tis job over with and you'll be fine."

Hisoka closed his eyes for a moment. "I'm sorry. it's just very frustraighting right now. i'm having a couple of problems in my non work life that's stressing me. when do we start? do you know if he's going to be someone's partner?"
