Konoe shook his head. "You should sleep well tonight then," he said, "you leave tomorrow. He will be paired up with Watari. You will all be traveling together, but your teams of two are comprised of you and Tsuzuki, and Nagare and Watari. And you know better than letting your home life get mixed into your work life. If this continues, I will have to put you on leave." He picked up a folder, a sign that this was not to be debated. "Now go home and pack, then get some rest. I'll see you bright and early."

Hisoka took the case and stood. "Thank you. I'm sure tomorrow will have a better outlook." He went to the door and stopped for a moment, thinking about asking the chief to go a head and put him on leave...but he decided against it and left, walking slowly back down the hall towards the office to get his things. Tears faught their way to the corners of his eyes. he could handle anything. Demons, murderers, even Muraki had become part of the norm and he could face the ageing man without feeling frightened...but his father, with or without memory loss, he really didn't think he could. there was something about this whole day that unnerved him. Of course Konoe didn't know about his past. but seeing Nagare brought back so many painful memories and with them all the anguish and torture he'd faught to free himself of for so long.

He entered the office with a heavy heart as he looked over at Tsuzuki and Watari. He said nothing to them, simply began to gather his things. the sooner he was alone the better.

Tsuzuki looked up, noticing right away the look on the empath's face. He stood.

"Hisoka?" he said, attention for Watari now gone, "is something wrong?"

Hisoka stopped for a moment. "My father is coming with us on our next asignment and i need to clear my head before i can deal with that." He was holding back tears. "if you want to know more youcan talk to Konoe. i don't have the energy and if i break down before i leave here he's going to put me on leave."

Tsuzuki wanted to hold Hisoka and comfort him, but knew how he was about being touched in front of others. "I'm sure it'll be alright," he said, knowing the words were foolhardy, but not knowing what else to say.

Hisoka took a deep breath and gave a small smile. "i'll be fine. it's just going to take some getting used to. he shouldn't be here too long anyway i'm sure. they're training him as a demon hunter so he'll probably be with Kira."

Tsuzuki frowned. "But they should know better than to pair him with you," he said, "after---" he stopped, but the thoughts of all of thee things he'd learned about Hisoka's past slipped through, as well as his strong worry.

Hisoka sighed. "yeah well according to Konoe i know better than to mix home life with work. he has severe memory loss so conveniently he doesn't even know who the hell i am." He walked up a bit closer to Tsuzuki after grabbing his things. "maybe you could come over for dinner tonight. if you don't have any plans..."

"Of course," Tsuzuki answered quickly, "is there a certain time you'd like me to be there? He hoped that they could get into a better discussion about everything making Hisoka depressed later when they got together. Or at least that he could find a way to help Hisoka feel better.

He nodded. "six is good. that'll give me a few hours for a nap before i start cooking. anyway, i better head out. i'll see you later." He looked up at the ever silent Watari. "and i'll see you tomorrow." Watari nodded. "Let me walk you out." Hisoka nodded as the older blond took some things to make the journy a bit easier. "Thanks Watari. bye Tsuzuki."
