Hisoka shook his head. "not yet. i think it's best if i don't have too much time to myself. working will keep my mind off of things until i get a new partner. i hope it will be soon, but i noticed you and Watari haven't had partners since before i came here. i guess that means i'll be paired off with you and Watari whever a case comes a long."

he wasn't sure if he was happy about this idea or not. "for food, i like just about everything. as long as it's not too sweet, but you don't seem like the type to like sweet food."

"I think I needed to shop after the day was through anyway, erm... did you want to meet me here? Or elsewhere?" he looked at the papers on his desk, stating without words that he'd likely be working a bit late tonight.

he looked up. "i can help you with those if you'd like. if not, well then i'll meet you here. i'm sure i can find something to do in the office. i got all the case reports caught up a few weeks ago and we hadn't been sent on a case since." he looked a little lost. what would he do with Tsuzuki's things? it was like the man had died. he took nothing but the clothes on his back and had left no instruction as to what to do with it all. Hisoka had decided to adopt the cat. "have any of you been to the house since i was out?" He looked worried. "i know it can't die again but the cat needs to be fed. i need to run home and do that quickly if it hasn't been done."

Tatsumi stared at the boy. "I hadn't known that you'd decided to adopt a cat," he said, "but none of us has been to your home at all, so you'd better go do that. Afterward all you need to do is fill out a report. Full detail should already be on your desk. If you would like, after you're finished, I would like for you to come along and kep me company while I finish... of ccourse, that's if you don't mind."

Hisoka nodded as he stood. "it was Tsuzuki's. but i managed to grow quite attatched to it. he must have known that he was leaving because he brought the cat to my house shortly before..." he paused with a deep frown. "Do you mind if i take an hour? i'll count it as my lunch break. i just want to make sure she eats properly and spend a little time with her. then i'll come back, okay?"

Tatsumi nodded at the empath. "Take your time," he said, "meet me here when you have the chance. If I'm able to finish I'll just wait here for you."

Hisoka nodded. "Thank you." He slipped out quietly and headed home.

about an hour later, he arrived back at the offce in a fresh change of clothes. he felt a little better and had taken a nap. his new keep seemed fine and was quite happy to see him, though the thought crossed his mind that she'd be happy to see anyone with food after a week. he was glad she wasn't a living cat, or else she'd have starved to death.

he knocked a bit akwardly on Tatsumi's door again. "Tatsumi-san, i'm back."
